For anyone thats ever worked on a vintage vehicle of any kind, you know that parts can be a challange sometimes. Especially now a days where the guy at the parts store wants to know if your vehicle has an AM/FM radio before he can find your shock absorbers in the computer. Unfortunatly, thats not a joke. With Scenicruisers we have an extra layer of completity. Initially there were only going to be 500 ever built. That number ultimatly got bumped up to 1000 but still, it was a very limited production vehicle for only one customer, Greyhound. What that meant was there were a limited number of "special parts" made for these coaches and that inventory went away a very long time ago. So what do we do? We make what we need.
When these coaches were produced, the industiral processes wern't nearly as sophisticated as they are today. Things were made by craftsman on simple machines. Granted, some of those machine were pretty big, like 4 story high presses and large iron castings, but by and large, they are parts that can be reproduced today.
As we find a need for our projects, we recreate parts and then make then available to other folks that may need them. The following pages are the start of the process, with many more to come.
